Craig has lived in Tennessee for over 45 years and has been a resident of Maury County since 1997. His mother was a nurse for over 30 years and his father was an educator, first as a teacher and then with the Tennessee Department of Education. Through them, Craig learned the importance of caring for others, and gained insight into both the healthcare and education systems.

Craig's decision to run for public office grew from watching friends, neighbors, and working families struggle with rising costs, higher prescription drug prices, and a government who seemed more interested in meddling with people’s personal lives than maintaining the roads. He believes government should work for everyday people and is committed to being a strong voice for the citizens of his district.

He is a graduate of Hendersonville High School in Sumner County, Tennessee and attended Middle Tennessee State University for several semesters.

Craig began his career in the hospitality and customer service industry, working long hours in entry-level positions and gaining firsthand experience with the challenges faced by working families. He later entered public service as a corrections officer at the Maury County Jail. Through hard work and dedication, after six years was promoted to Sergeant. During his years as a Sergeant, Craig supervised correctional staff, created and managed a classification program to better serve the inmates and the Department, as PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Coordinator he wrote and managed policy and procedures to comply with Federal guidelines, served as Acting Lieutenant when needed, and helped train and mentor new employees. His leadership experience and commitment to public safety earned the respect of both colleagues and supervisors. When he left the Sheriff’s Office in 2019 to take over the family century farm, he knew he wasn’t done serving his community. 

Craig joined a Disney charity group in 2014 to raise money for kids in need all around the world. As an officer for three years, he learned how to manage finances, to put resources where they are needed, and how to get a team to work effectively.

Craig is the proud parent of an adult child with whom he runs the farm.

Today, as a farmer, small business owner, and community member, he understands the opportunities and challenges facing rural Tennessee. Craig is running for State Representative because he believes Tennesseans deserve practical leadership, responsible government, and an advocate who understands the realities of working families, small businesses, farmers, and rural communities.
